We find today that herpes transmission is very high today. The easiness at which one can get infected with herpes is alarming. Sadly there are many people who are unaware of this fact and also unaware that they even have the virus. HSV is another name for herpes simplex virus. The two main popular manners in which people contract HSV is through vaginal intercourse and by kissing.

The virus is caught by many people nowadays and this is due to the fact that the virus gets around in the easiest of fashions. Many people are indifferent to catching HSV. They do not follow precautions and do not seem to care about infecting other people.

Direct contact with affected areas is how HSV is spread. Simply touching an infected area will allow the person to contract HSV. Oral and vaginal sexual intercourse is another way for this virus to spread very quickly.

The genital herpes is transmitted by those engaging in anal and vaginal intercourse. Oral HSV transmits by touching and kissing. It is also possible to get oral HSV by engaging in oral sex and the reverse applies too. Should you touch your partner and he or she is infected and then you decide to masturbate then you can also contract HSV.

The simplex transmissions normally occurs through touching blisters or open cold sores. This does not however mean that non visible lesions of the skin cannot mean contracting HSV. The first symptoms many be tingling or itching. This would normally be the case where the person does not know that he or she just got infected. This is dangerous as they unwittingly perpetuate the problem by passing the infection to many others.

Believe it or not you can actually infect yourself by touching an infected area then felling other parts of your body. You may have just gone and infected yourself. Perhaps more importantly you can infect your children and other people who stay in your house. If you are infected then avoid touching anyone's face, eyes and other parts. This will contain the infection to a degree.

Pregnant moms can transfer the infection to their offspring that is still in the mothers womb. Woman that are carrying babies should most certainly avoid contracting HSV at all costs. Make sure you do not have vaginal HSV when giving birth otherwise a C-section will have to be carried out in order to avoid the baby coming into contact with HSV.

If you are an HSV carrier then take all the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of HSV. Contracting HSV is not the end of the road for you, there are many cures out there to effectively treat the virus, in an instant. This will enable you to make the virus lay dormant and not affect people. This does still mean that you must avoid activities that encourage the spread of herpes.

The sexual form of the virus is known as HSV-2. It is the biggest reason for the spread of the genital kind in the developing countries. It spreads like wild fire and has the propensity to cause illness and therefore morbidity is hugely affected in these parts of the world. Like love, HSV-2 lasts forever! Most suffers experience little or no symptoms. This means that most of the genital herpes that is spread today is from carriers that are asymptomatic.

Genital HSV-2 increases the risk of developing HIV by as much as 300%. Those that have HSV-2 have a 500% chance of spreading HIV to another person. And this is for every one time that you have sexual intercourse. It is reported that this sexual activity is between 40-60 % of the spread of new HIV infections. It is widely debated that HSV-2 is aggressively spreading HIV world wide. The converse to this is that a significant number of HIV cases could be avoided if HSV-2 was curtailed in some way. It has been reported in recent trails that suppressive therapy for HSV-2 did not reduce the spread and contracting of HIV.

HIV in the meantime will increase the chance and probability of HSV-2 spreading. The outbreaks of HSV-2 are farm ore aggressive in cases where HIV exists. It is interesting to note that the persistent presence of HSV-2 was instrumental in identifying AIDS.

In South Africa in an informal settlement called Orange Farm clinical trials were carried out on more than three thousand uncircumcised males between the ages of 18-24. There were a variety of factors such as number of partners all sorts of other criteria. The ultimate finding was that in circumsized men there was a reduction of HSV-2 female to male transferring.

The long story of this trail made short is that HSV-2 played a big role in the area of people contracting HIV. These findings supported conclusions made at other clinical trials. Ultimately men that are circumsized have a far less probability of contracting HSV-2.

There is a process where infected people can infect themselves further. This is called auto inoculation. This however is not the norm as the body does produce antibodies and these antibodies fight off and prevent further spread of infection.

The oral kind, this is most often HSV-1 can be found in the saliva and blood of patients. There must be current infections in the mouth for this to transpire. It is the most popular kind and normally occurs during the years before kids start to attend school. Breath, saliva and skin contact are the main reasons for the HSV-2 to spread. Never share eating utensils and or tooth brushes as this guaranteed way to either contract or transmit HSV-2.

Genital HSV-2 is most often contracted and transpired by sex. People that engage in sex with a number of sexual partners are at extremely high risk and it is important to know that HSV-2 can enter through the skin, anally and other areas. I trust that this has shed some light in the story of herpes transmission and readers will ever cautious from hereon in.
